Ransini Perera, the athlete, won the gold medal in the 200m event at the Asian Junior Athletics Championships, returning Sri Lanka to the gold medal in that event after 32 years, after Olympic medalist Susanthika Jayasinghe.
Athlete Tharushi Abhisheka, who surpassed the track with her own unique speed, won the gold medal in the 1500 meters event, adding another golden pride to the country.
