The main sports ceremony of the University of Colombo for the year 2025 was held recently at the Faculty of Medicine Auditorium of the University of Colombo and the ceremony was jointly organized by the Department of Physical Education of the University of Colombo and the Amalgamated Club. The students who showed excellent performance in the 15th Sri Lanka University Sports Championship of the year 2025 were recognized here. More than 400 color winners of the University of Colombo participated in this occasion and the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilaka, was present as the chief guest and Dr. Rajiv Nirmalasinghe was present as the special guest. Here, Himsara Randeniya and Michelle Ketagoda won the awards as the best sportsman of the year at the University of Colombo, while Pasidu Malawana and Devmini Weerasinghe won the awards as the player who received the scholarship, a special award given only once in the university’s life. The scholarship money was provided by the Colombo University Alumni Association of Victoria, Australia, which is a specialty.
