Pakistan’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup, which begins in February, has been named.

Accordingly, Salman Ali Agha has been named as the captain of the squad.

The announcement was made by Pakistan Cricket Board’s High Performance Director and Men’s National Selection Committee member Aqib Javed at a press conference held with captain Salman and limited-overs head coach Michael James Hesson at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Among the players, Salman, Faheem Ashraf, Khawaja Mohammad Nafe, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq have been called up for their maiden World Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Naseem Shah, Zaim Ayub, Shaheen, Shadab Khan and Usman Khan have played in at least one World Cup since 2021.

In the 20-team tournament, each team is scheduled to play four group matches before the Super Eights and knockout stages from February 7 to March 8.

Pakistan is scheduled to face Australia in a three-match T20 International series at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on January 29, 31 and February 1, and the preparation camp for that begins today.

Salman has also been named the captain of the T20 International squad that was unveiled earlier this week.
