Sri Lanka’s first international sports Sinhala media course was launched recently at the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency. The event was attended by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka Andrés Marcelo Gonzalez Garrido, Secretary to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Aruna Bandara, Chairman of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency Lalisha Kahatapitiya, Director General of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency Shiromi Pilapitiya, Chairman of the National Sports Council Priyantha Ekanayake, Chairman of the Sugathadasa National Sports Complex Authority Ranjith Wimalaratne and a group of others.

The International Course on Clean Sports, prepared by the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, is an online course, and a recognized certificate is issued at the end of the course.

Athletes can join this course, and not only athletes but also school students and anyone who wants to gain knowledge and understanding on this subject can join this course.

Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage, who attended the event, said that the government is intervening and minimizing the use of banned stimulants. The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports stated that it has been proposed to plan a program that will also provide understanding to school students on this subject, and that the clean sports needed in this country can be built through it.

The Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency says that the SLADA mobile application, which can test any drug, will be launched soon, and that through it, one can easily gain an understanding of prohibited drugs and drugs that can be used.
