The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the world’s biggest football tournament, officially begins today (June 11), with the tournament being co-hosted by three countries for the first time in history: Mexico, Canada and the United States.
The opening match will be played between hosts Mexico and South Africa at the Estadio Azteca, and the opening ceremony has already captured the attention of football fans around the world.
