Several Indian media outlets have reported that Messi’s fee for the multi-city promotional tour is estimated to be between 100 and 150 crore Indian rupees (approximately $12 million to $18 million).
However, neither Messi’s representatives nor the tour’s organizers have publicly confirmed the figure.
The tour, which included public appearances and promotional events, attracted a lot of attention across India, especially in cities with large football followings.
The organizers offered a range of ticketed events, including meet-and-greet sessions, which were priced at a premium.
Media reports say fans were charged nearly 1 million rupees (about $12,000) for photo opportunities and brief encounters with Messi, and prices are much higher for meet-and-greets for special guests.
Messi, widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, will play for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.
His visit to India is being billed as a promotional tour, not a competitive football event.
