Sadio Mane, Africa’s biggest football star, never forgot his roots

Sadio Mane has never forgotten the small village in Senegal where he started.
After becoming Africa’s biggest football star, he used a large part of his money to improve the lives of the people of Bambali. Mane funded the construction of a government hospital with a maternity ward in the village. This gave families in the village access to medical facilities that were previously difficult to access. There was a very personal reason for this: Mane lost his father when he was young, and he fell ill and had no way to get treatment because there was no hospital in the village.
He also donated about £250,000 (two and a half million) to build a school, buy laptops for children, give gifts to talented children and even buy sports clothes for the children in the village.
His help was not limited to health and education. He has reportedly also donated money to build a petrol shed and a post office in the village. He has also provided 4G internet access to the village itself and has started giving about 70 euros per month to every family in the village. Mane Bambali has also helped develop the village’s football facilities. This has enabled him to provide the new generation of the village with opportunities that he did not have when he was young.
