St. Mary’s won the 2026 Champions Cup football tournament.
They defeated Saunders in the final.
St. Mary’s is a team representing the Jaffna district, and this is the first time that a team representing the Northern Province has won the trophy in a major football tournament organized by the Football Federation of Sri Lanka.
The final was held at the Colombo Racecourse amid the Vidyut Aloka Dhara.
By the end of the regular time, both teams had scored two goals each.
Accordingly, the winners of the match were decided by penalty kicks.
St. Mary’s converted 3 penalties while Saunders converted only one penalty kick.
