The 2026 Asian Rugby Championship match between Sri Lanka and South Korea has been cancelled, the Asian Rugby Federation said.
The statement issued by the body further states that the decision to cancel tomorrow’s match was taken after it was confirmed that the Sri Lankan national team was unable to obtain the necessary tourist visas to enter South Korea in time for the match.
Asian Rugby, together with Sri Lanka Rugby and the Korean Rugby Union, explored a number of possible solutions for this, but the above decision had to be taken due to the inability to complete the visa process within the required timeframe, the relevant statement further states.
