FIFA President Gianni Infantino has expressed confidence that Iran will participate in this year’s World Cup.
This comes after the country’s sports minister said that Iran will not be able to participate in the World Cup due to the military situation in the Middle East.
The 2026 World Cup will be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada, and Iran has also requested that the matches it will host be held outside the United States.
However, the FIFA president, who rejected the request, said that his organization guarantees the safety of the Iranian football team and staff.
