The Past Prefects’ Association of Zahira College, Colombo will be organising the Nolimit 18th Zahira Super 16 Soccer Sevens Tournament for the 18th successive year at the Racecourse Stadium in Colombo on December 8.
16 of the country’s top football-playing schools are set to compete in this tournament, a platform intended to showcase young players’ immense talent and skills on a grand scale.
Out of the 16 teams, eight schools have secured direct entry into the main event, thanks to their unresolved performances in the previous year’s competition.
Another 12 teams battled fiercely in a qualifier round held on November 9 at the Moragasmulla Grounds, Rajagiriya. From this powerful competition, seven schools emerged victorious, earning their place in the final line-up.
As Sri Lanka search for to elevate its presence in the global football arena, this tournament is a vital step towards achieving international recognition.
By development talent and providing young players with exposure to high-calibre competition, the event underscores its significance in shaping the future of Sri Lankan football.

Senanayake College, Colombo, Royal College, Colombo, Zahira College, Gampola, St. Benedict’s College, Hameed Al Husseinie College, St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, Maris Stella College, Negombo, T. B. Jayah Zahira College, Zahira College, Dharga Town, Zahira College, Colombo and Stafford Sri Lankan School, Doha.
