According to ESPNcricinfo, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will take a final decision on Bangladesh’s participation in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup by January 21, after discussions with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The ICC has informed the BCB that it needs to take a decision on whether or not Bangladesh will participate in the tournament, which will be hosted by India.
If the BCB decides against sending its team to India, the ICC is expected to name a replacement team for the occasion.
Based on the current ICC rankings, Scotland is likely to be the team considered as a replacement.
The situation is still under discussion as the ICC is awaiting Bangladesh’s final position before January 21.
