During the recently concluded T20 cricket match between England and Pakistan, an argument between two spectators that had escalated into a fight was prevented by a Sri Lankan spectator. What is even more special is that he was not a security guard or any other authority figure but an ordinary spectator who had come to watch the match. Somehow, as the match at the Pallekele stadium was becoming more heated, the argument between the two England and Pakistani fans escalated to a point where it was close to a fight. When the Sri Lankan spectator intervened from time to time and made great efforts to defuse the situation, the two finally came to an agreement and as a gesture of gratitude to the young man who came forward to defuse the situation, the English cricket authorities took steps to provide the young man with the opportunity to watch all future matches at their own expense.
