After a gap of 57 years, the ASBC Asian Under-22 Boxing Championships and Youth Boxing Championships were held in Sri Lanka from 12 to 23 May 2025 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. The victory ceremony was held yesterday (23) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo under the patronage of the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mr. Sunil Kumara Gamage.
The event was graced by the presence of many special guests including Prime Minister’s Secretary Pradeep Saputhanthri, International Boxing Federation Secretary and CEO Chris Roberts, Interim ASBC President of Kazakhstan Aziz Koshambetov, President and officials of the Sri Lanka Boxing Federation.
Over 400 athletes and officials from over 24 countries participated in the tournament, which was organized in collaboration with the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), Asian Boxing Federation (ASBC) and International Boxing Association (IBA), with support from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, Sri Lanka’s Tri-Forces, Police, Customs and Immigration Department.
