Sri Lanka Cricket shifted the ‘Brain Center’ to the High Performance Center at RPICS,
Colombo, in order to further enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the facility.
The facility was earlier housed at the SLC headquarters.
The newly established Brain Center serves as a centralized hub for advanced cricket analytics,
talent development, and coaching, and the new facility will accommodate large groups of
players and coaches for workshops, strategy sessions, and video analytical reviews.
SLC President Shammi Silva declared open the new facility recently, while Dr. Jayantha
Dharmadasa, Vice President of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mr. Sujeeva Godaliyadda, Treasurer of Sri
Lanka Cricket, and Mr. Ashley De Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket, were among the
participants at the opening ceremony.
The move to reposition the Brain Center at the High Performance Center (RPICS, Colombo)
helps align the training facilities and technology at the same venue, thus enabling the players
and coaches quick access to the ‘Brain Center’ within their training premises itself.
The facility’s secure storage system allows players and coaches to access and analyze historical
data, past performances, and trends, thus enabling them to prepare well for future competitions.
The repositioning will help SLC’s youth programs, as the youngsters can be exposed to cuttingedge team presentations when attending HPC or part of live in performance camps.
Interactive white boards and access to match footage at an instance will help enhance player
education at all levels of the game.
With the latest reposition, Coach Education Unit will conduct “online” masterclasses and
coaching workshops.
