Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has recorded a net income of Rs. 12.1 billion for the financial year 2023, reflecting a 105% growth compared to the previous year, it said in a media release yesterday (24).
According to the media release, SLC’s membership had unanimously accepted the audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2023.
The audited financial statements were approved during an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held yesterday in Colombo.
The substantial rise in net income was principally attributed to four key revenue streams: international cricket, domestic cricket, sponsorship agreements, and annual disbursements from the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The SLC statement read that the National Audit Office (NAO) had provided an unqualified estimation in its Auditor’s Report regarding SLC’s financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2023.
Observing on the audited financial statements, SLC President Shammi Silva has stated that the unqualified opinion from the NAO serves as a testament to the organisation’s adherence to Sri Lankan laws and its commitment to financial transparency.
