
Dr. Dushan Lalisha Kahatapitiya received his letter of appointment from the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Sunil Kumara Gamage, today (23) at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, established by Part III of the Convention against Doping in Sport Act, No. 33 of 2013. The appointment was also attended by the Director General of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, Dr. Shiromi Pilapitiya de Alwis.
Appointed as the new Chairman of the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency, he holds a PhD in Sports Science from the Manuel Fajardo International University of Physical, Cultural and Sports Sciences in Cuba, has also served as an Administrative Manager at the De’Fernanda Sports Training Center in Quito, Ecuador, and has also served as a member of the International Boxing Association (IBA) Sports Development Program.
He has also served as an Assistant Coach of the Cuban Youth National Boxing Team, is a medalist at the South Asian Junior Boxing Championship and the International “YMCA” Boxing Championship, and is a former member of the national boxing team.
