The 49th Sri Lanka Schools’ Age Group Aquatic Sports Championship observed a spectacular display of talent and determination, with 208 schools and 3077 athletes opposing for glory. Among the standout performers was Rion de Silva from Royal International School Kurunegala, whose stellar attainments have set a new standard in junior aquatic sports.
Rion de Silva’s outstanding performance was nothing short of exceptional, settling multiple podium finishes in his category. In the Boys Under-14 division, Rion demonstrated his prowess in the pool with impressive results.
Gold Medal:
1st Place in Boys Under-14: 50 LC Metre Backstroke Junior, finishing in an impressive time of 33.30 seconds
Silver Medal:
2nd Place in Boys Under-14: 100 LC Metre Freestyle Junior, with a commendable time of 1 minute and 2.76 seconds
Bronze Medal:
3rd Place in Boys Under-14: 50 LC Metre Butterfly Junior, achieving a swift time of 31.58 seconds
