Holy Family Convent Team Wins All-Island U20 Basketball Championship
Displaying exceptional teamwork and skill, the Holy Family Convent (HFC) Colombo Under-20 girls' basketball team clinched the All-Island National Schools Under-20 Basketball Championship. HFC secured this prestigious victory by defeating Mahamaya Girls' College with a score of 45–28 in the grand final held at the Royal College Indoor Sports Complex in Colombo.

The final of the women's 400m individual medley swimming event took place recently.Young Chinese athlete Yu Xidi won the event with a time of 4 minutes 28.56 seconds, setting a new tournament record.This also marks the fourth-fastest time recorded by an athlete in this event this year.Yu Xidi had previously won gold medals in the women's 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley events at these Games.The 20th Asian Games are being held across several cities in Japan, including Aichi and Nagoya.
Wanindu Hasaranga withdrawn from England ODI tour and recalled home
Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga is being withdrawn from the ongoing ODI series between the touring Sri Lanka team and England and recalled to the island.Reports indicate that he is being recalled due to a minor injury.Cricket sources stated that the injury affects his back and neck area. Wanindu is returning to Sri Lanka specifically to prepare for upcoming tournaments, including the tri-nation ODI series scheduled to be held in Pakistan next month.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the support that could be provided to develop football in Sri Lanka. Mr. Sanjeevan Balasingam stated that support would be extended for the development of football in the country. Further discussions were also held regarding the construction of a football pitch with FIFA's sponsorship and the provision of necessary equipment for football players.
