Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has announced that he will retire from Test cricket with immediate effect.
The Indian team is scheduled to play a five-match Test series in England from June 20, and accordingly, the country’s selection committee will have to name a new captain for the Indian Test team soon.
After the Indian team won the T20 World Cup last year under Rohit’s leadership, he decided to bid farewell to the T20 International field.
Sharma stated that although he has decided to retire from the Test field from today, he will continue to play ODI cricket.
He made this announcement by posting a post on his social media accounts.
