The Rajasthan Royals team has been sold for the largest bid received for a team ownership in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Indian media reports that a conglomerate led by American entrepreneur Kal Somani has bought 100% ownership of this team for a whopping amount of US $ 1.63 billion (over Rs. 501 billion in Sri Lankan currency).
This is also considered the most valuable team deal in IPL history.
Accordingly, the ownership of the Rajasthan Royals team is set to be officially transferred to new owners after the end of the IPL 2026 tournament
