The Navy Sports Club (SC) won in the final of the Inter Club Women’s Rugby 10s tournament played in Welisara, winning the championship title.
The Navy team formed a stirring performance, beating CR & FC 61-05. The tournament spanned several months, starting on 28 December, 2024, and ending on 14 March, 2025.
Take over from the outset, the Navy women’s rugby team stormed into the second round of the tournament with crucial victories over CR & FC (44-15) and Army (32-07).
As a outcome of the dominant performance, Navy narrowly beat the Army 27-24 in the second round, booking their place in the final in which the women in blue lifted the title.
In the final, the Navy attained an impressive total of 61 points, due to impressive performances from several players.
Woman Able Seaman RHS Kumari led the spree with six tries, while Woman Ordinary Seaman KPDP Sathsarani fragmented in with two tries.
