Methvan Wijemanne will meet Apna Perera in the men’s singles final of the 109th National Tennis Championship after they protected victories in the semi-finals played at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts.

An all Wijemanne final was prevented when Apna Perera beat Thehan Wijemanne 6-1, 7-5 in his semi-final. Methwan beat Ganuka Fernando 6-0, 5-7, 6-3 in his match.

In the meantime in the girls Under 12 semi-finals Jennifer Mercy of St. Joseph’s College, Grand Pass beat Risindi Hewawasam 7-5, 6-4 and Sahansa Damsiluni (Visakha Vidyalaya) beat Sanuthi Wong 6-3, 6-2.
