Two Sri Lanka National Baseball Team players Sameera Rathnayake and Sandeesha Meegoda, along with Sri Lanka Baseball Association Secretary General Wing Commander Mark Fonseka, are scheduled to participate in the Baseball United UAE League in Dubai commencing from today (14) till next Tuesday (18).
Rathnayake and Meegoda will contest as players, while Fonseka will serve as a tournament official.
The involvement of these Sri Lankan players in this tournament signifies a key turnaround for local baseball firmament in the process providing priceless experience for the players and the game here.
The Sri Lanka Baseball Association said this participation is a major chance for the sport’s development in the country, with the experience gained expected to contribute to its growth and future success.
