Killer Whale Aquatics (KWA) won both the Men’s and Women’s Senior National titles at the National and Junior National Short Course Swimming Championships, which finished at the Isipathana College Swimming Pool in Colombo recently.

In the men’s segment, Men’s Senior National Champion M.F. Muhammad of Zahira College finalized five gold medals, while Minagi Rupesinghe of KWA stood out in the women’s event with five gold medals and three new national records, claiming the women’s senior national championship title.

The junior championships also saw remarkable performances. Julie Daniella Hope from Dubai-based Cyclone Aquatics set four junior national records and earned five gold medals, while A.I.M. Haathim of St. Peter’s College set up two junior national records, four gold medals, and one silver, becoming the girls’ and boys’ junior national champions, respectively.

In the Senior National Men’s Championship, KWA’s men’s team recorded a dominant 595.50 points, securing first place. 

Stafford International School emerged second with 366 points, while the Sri Lanka Army finished third with 298 points.
