Jevahn Sathasivam and Kaya Daluwatte gained the Gold Division in the Boys’ and Girls’ segments correspondingly at the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship 2024, which finished at the Royal Colombo Golf Club Course yesterday.

More than 120 junior golfers take part at this Junior Golf event. 

Sathasivam emerged victorious in the Boys’ category with an impressive three-round total of 213 (72-68-73), earning him the Overall Boys’ champion title. 

Sathasivam continued steady play throughout the tournament, particularly with a strong second-round 68. Adithya Weerasinghe claimed the runner-up position with a total of 214, followed by Reshan Algama at 219 and Jacob Norton finishing fourth at 223.

The Girls’ Gold/Silver Division saw a extraordinary performance from Kaya Daluwatte, who claimed both the division title and Overall Girls’ championship with a charming score of 212 (70-69-73). 

Her consistent play included impressive rounds in the first two days. Anumi Karunathilake secured second place with 277, Aaraadhi Samararathne took third with 287.

In the Silver Division (12-14+ years) Boys’ category, Kaiyan Johnpillai clinched win with a score of 221 followed by Thejas Rathiskanth at 223. Senal Nimsith took third with 234.

The Bronze Division (10-11+ years) showed initial talent, with Genuli Weerakoon winning the Girls’ category at 200, followed by Vihara Herath (211) and Hesandi Meepawala (227).

In the Boys’ section, prominent performances included Danik Daluwatte and Divyeshz Silva.

The Copper Division (nine and under) highlighted the youngest competitors, with Ananya Kishanthan winning the Girls’ category with 124, followed by Dulkini Kangara (128), Thangaraja Sanuthi Sithumli (141).

In the Boys’ section, Jaeden Sathasivam once again was in in supreme class taking home the second trophy for the family securing  triumph with 98, closely followed by Yuvan Rathiskanth (99), Jayith Guruge (119).
