The International Cricket Council has released information about the prize money for the 2026 Twenty20 World Cup to the media.
Accordingly, the ICC stated that more than 11 million US dollars (11,250,000) will be distributed among the 20 participating countries. That is, about 347 million rupees in Sri Lankan currency.
The champions will be given an amount of 2,340,000 US dollars, that is, about 720 million rupees in Sri Lankan currency. The runners-up will receive 1,170,000 dollars (360 million rupees).
The two teams that lose in the semi-finals are scheduled to be given $675,000 (approximately Rs. 210 million) each.
