Musaeus College, Colombo was crowned champions at the Girls’ All-Island under 18 Hockey Tournament 2024, defeat Sanghamitta College, Matale by 2 goals to 1 in the final held in Wennappuwa recently, organised and lead by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association under the guidance and supervision of the Ministry of Education. 

In the group matches played, Musaeus College beat Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo by 3 goals to nil; Rangiri Dambulla College by 6 goals to nil; Ihalagoda Sumangala BV by 5 goals to nil; and President’s Girls’ College, Galle by 2 goals to nil.

Qualifying for the quarter-final, Musaeus College beat Ladies’ College, Colombo by 2 goals to nil, and in the semi-final, beat Holy Family Convent, Wennappuwa by 1 goal to nil in a thrilling contest to enter the final of the Girls’ Under 18 All-Island Championship 2024.

Janudi Geeganage of Musaeus College was declared the Best Player at this tournament. 

M.J.M. Naushad, an Isipathanian and former national cap-turned-International Umpire and Coach, and Assistant Coach Crooz, who is also a former Isipathanian hockey player, both showcased their skills and talents in their coaching stint, guiding Musaeus College to win the championship. 

The champion Musaeus College Under 18 Hockey Team comprised Keshani Perera, Vinuri Nanayakkara, Methuli Dahanayake, Janudi Geeganage, Pasandi Herath, Osindi Kathriarachchi, Dilmi De Silva, Joanvie Kothalawala, Sahanli Dharmasena, Lithumi Kannangara, Minuthi Jayasinghe, Shanuli Udamsa, Nethumi Samarasinghe, Vasandi Karunanayake, Pinidhi Jayawardena, Kinara Hettiarachchi, Sandumi De Silva, Tehara Amuhengoda (GK), and Chitara Konakalagala.
