Five Sri Lankan boxers have qualified for the Super 16 round of the 2025 World Boxing Championships.
They are in the 48, 54, 57, 71 and 75 weight classes.
The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates.
The number of boxers participating in the tournament from 150 countries is close to 600.
For the first time, 8 boxers will be participating in the tournament this time representing Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan boxers who qualified for the Super 16 round are Daniel Thisararachchi from the 48 weight class, Ravidhu Kumara from the 54 weight class, P.A.R. Prasanna from the 57 weight class, Udara Rupassara from the 71 weight class and Mohamed Usaith from the 75 weight class.
The tournament will be held until the 13th.
