Dharmasoka College and Devananda College emerged winning in the Under-19 ‘A’ Division boys’ and girls’ categories correspondingly at the all island inter-school table tennis championship, held at the Indoor Stadium in Bandaragama.

Organized by the Sri Lanka Schools Table Tennis Association, the championship had the take part of nearly 200 talented school athletes from all around the country.

In an exciting Under-19 ‘A’ Division boys’ final, Dharmasoka College defeated Ananda College Colombo 3-1 to claim the title, while in the girls’ category, Devananda College overcame Mahamaya Girls’ School Kandy 3-2 to secure championship honours.

Championship results across all divisions:

Boys Category:
Under-19 ‘A’ Division: Champion – Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda; Runner-up – Ananda College Colombo; third places – Vidyartha College Kandy, Royal College Colombo.
‘B’ Division: Champion – Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda; Runner-up – Royal College Colombo; third places – Ananda College Colombo, Loyola College Bopitiya.
‘C’ Division: Champion – Dharmaraja College Kandy; Runner-up – Methodist High School Moratuwa; third places – Royal College Colombo, S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia.
D’ Division: Champion – St. Thomas’ College Bandarawela; Runner-up – Richmond College Galle; third places – Gateway College Colombo, Swarnajayanthi Vidyalaya Kegalle.
‘E’ Division: Champion – Richmond College Galle; Runner-up – Hindu College Colombo; third places – Prince of Wales College Moratuwa, St. Thomas’ College Bandarawela.
Girls Category:
Under-19 ‘A’ Division: Champion – Devananda College Ambalangoda; Runner-up – Mahamaya Girls’ School Kandy; third places – Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda, High School Kandy
‘B’ Division: Champion – Good Shepherd Convent Kandy; Runner-up – High School Kandy; third places – Methodist College Colombo, Mahamaya High School Kandy.
‘C’ Division: Champion – Dharmasoka College Ambalangoda; Runner-up – Rathnawali Balika Gampaha; Third places – Methodist College Colombo, Kagalu Balika Vidyalaya Kegalle.
‘D’ Division: Champion – Hillwood College Kandy; Runner-up – Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya Colombo; third places – St. Bridget’s Convent Colombo, Sangamitta NS Matale.
‘E’ Division: Champion – Sangamitta NS Matale; Runner-up – Lyceum Panadura; third places – St. Anthony’s Balika Panadura, St. Joseph’s Balika Nugegoda.
