South African cricketers Quinton de Kock and David Miller have slammed the International Cricket Council (ICC) over the travel arrangements made for them to leave the country after their exit from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

They alleged that England were allowed to leave the country early and that South Africa and West Indies were kept in India.

The West Indies were knocked out of the tournament after a five-wicket defeat to India at Eden Gardens on March 1, while South Africa also ended their campaign after losing to New Zealand in the first semi-final in Kolkata on March 4.

England, who lost to India in the second semi-final on March 5, had departed from Mumbai to London on a direct chartered flight on Saturday evening.

However, South Africa and the West Indies were already awaiting travel arrangements and are expected to depart Kolkata together on a chartered flight on Sunday, although the exact departure time has not been confirmed.

“Funny @ICC, we had no idea! Meanwhile, England are somehow leaving before us? @westindies and @proteasmencsa in the dark! It’s amazing how different teams are getting more traction than others,” de Kock wrote on his Instagram story.

Regional tensions linked to the ongoing standoff between the US, Israel and Iran have also led to travel disruptions on several routes.
