The Australian squad for the 2026 Twenty20 World Cup has been announced.
The squad, led by Mitchell Marsh, includes 15 players.
Pat Cummins has missed the World Cup due to a back injury. Accordingly, steps have been taken to call up Ben Dwarshuis in the squad.
Matt Short has been dropped from the squad, and Steven Smith, who showed great performance in the Big Bash League, has also not been allocated a place in the squad.
Short was previously named in the preliminary squad, but steps have been taken to replace him with Matthew Renshaw in order to strengthen the middle order. The World Cup is scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka and India from February 7.
The Australian team is currently on a tour of Pakistan and is scheduled to play in Group B of the World Cup alongside Sri Lanka.
The match between Sri Lanka and Australia is scheduled to be held on February 16 at the Pallekele Stadium.
