The Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment emerged winning at the Army Inter-Regimental Triathlon Tournament held recently near Chandrika Wewa, Embilipitiya.
The event was detained under the direction of Army Commander Lt. Gen. Vikum Liyanage with more than 60 athletes from 12 regiments.
The triathlon, which featured a 750 m swim, 20 km cycling race, and 5 km run, was organised by the Army Triathlon Committee under the leadership of Army Triathlon Sports Committee Chairman Maj. Gen. Kapila Dolage.
The event meant to build a strong team of Army athletes to overcome future challenges in the field of sports.
Triathlon Sports Committee Secretary Maj. M.J. Salgadu warmly welcomed Chief Guest, Sri Lanka Medical Corps Colonel Commandant and Defence Services Command and Staff College Commandant Maj. Gen. Dolage.
The Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, showcasing extraordinary athletic prowess throughout the tournament, clinched the overall championship.
The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Regiment secured the second place, rounding out a highly competitive event.
