The Army Inter-Regiment Judo Tournament 2024 was conducted from the 22 to 25 September 2024 at the Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda. A total of 188 athletes competed in two categories: novice and open, showcasing their skills in an exciting competition. In the novice category, the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment emerged as the champions.
In the women’s open category, Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps claimed the championship title, while the Sri Lanka Engineers claimed the runners-up position. In the men’s open category, the Gajaba Regiment secured the championship, while the Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps securing the runner-up position.
Major General Dinesh Nanayakkara, Chairman of the Army Judo Committee, graced the occasion as the chief guest and presented certificates and medals to the winners. Corporal W.L.A.H. Imesha from the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps was named as the best player of the tournament, recognizing her outstanding performance.
