The Alumni Reunion of Ananda-Nalanda cricketers who represented the Ananda-Nalanda cricket teams in the 80s and who learned their craft from cricket coaches Nelson Mendis, Anuruddha Polonnaruwa and Lionel Mendis and who are now representing various fields in Sri Lanka and abroad was held for the second time recently (27) at the Colombo Cricket Club (CCC) with great enthusiasm.
It was organized in this manner this time too, successfully fulfilling the promise made before the Ananda Nalanda War to organize such a meeting for the second year.
A host of stars from Ananda and Nalanda Colleges, who joined the national cricket team in the 80s and represented various sports clubs and immortalized the Ananda-Nalanda name in cricket and cricket administration, came together to color this occasion.
The 50th anniversary of veteran cricket coach Nelson Mendis, which fell on that day, was another interesting event that made this gathering colourful.
