Young men Sports Club of Akkaraipattu beat Sober Sports Club, Addalaichenai by five wickets in the final to emerge champions and bagged the ‘Raheemiya Night Cricket Fiesta Champion Trophy-2024’of the eight-a- side limited over flood-lit cricket tournament lead by Akkaraipattu Raheemiya Sports Club at the Pallikidiyiruppu Athaullah Play Grounds, Akkaraipattu recently.
Overall 50 prominent cricket teams from the Ampara district played at the tournament organized by Raheemiya SC, Akkaraipattu to mark completion of 18th years of the club.
The final match was played among the Akkaraipattu Young Men SC team and Addalaichenai Sober SC team.
Addalaichenai Sober SC batting first scored 41 runs for the loss of three wickets in their allocated 5 overs. Akkaraipattu Young Men SC in reply scored 47 runs for down five wickets.
Player of the final match and most valuable player of the tournament was Jasmeer and Best Batsman was Nafly of Young men SC and Best Bowler was Anshaf of BBB SC.
The Parliamentarian and the National Congress National Leader A.L.M.Athaullah participated as the Chief Guest at the award ceremony. Champion Akkaraipatt Young men SC team were awarded Rs.50,000 cash prize and trophy and the runner-up Addalaichenai Sober Sports Club team was awarded Rs.25,000 and a trophy. Trophies and cash prize for winning teams were dispersed by the Guests on the occasion.
