The Sri Lanka women’s football team tolerated a unacceptable campaign in Group ‘F’ of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Asian Cup (Australia 2026) qualifiers, failing to score a single goal and yielding 20 goals across their three matches.
The Group ‘F’ qualifiers, featuring Uzbekistan, Nepal, Laos, and Sri Lanka, were held at the Do’Stilik Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Sri Lanka agonized a 0–10 defeat to host nation Uzbekistan, a 0–8 loss to Nepal, and a 0–2 loss to Laos, finishing at the bottom of the group without a point or a goal to their name.
Undefeated Uzbekistan qualified for the final round of the tournament as Group ‘F’ champions. Both Nepal and Uzbekistan were level on goal difference and goals scored, so a penalty shoot-out was used to determine the final group rankings.
