Fairfirst Insurance emerged winning in the Mercantile Services Basketball Association (MSBA) League 2024 – ‘A’ Division Men’s Tournament, beating Commercial Credit and Finance PLC 78-56 in the finals to secure their second championship title.
The team’s dominant performance throughout the tournament established them as undisputed champions.
Key to this triumph was the exceptional performance of Praneeth Udumalagala, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
The team was led by Captain Shehan Udayanga, directed by the expertise of veteran coach Roshan Randima, and managed by Fiyaz Izzeth.
The significant tournament featured Sri Lanka’s top corporate teams: Commercial Credit and Finance PLC, Fairfirst Insurance, and Akbar Brothers, with national-level players proudly representing their companies.
Fairfirst played four league-phase matches, facing each opponent twice, and entered the finals undefeated, showcasing unmatched skill and teamwork.
