Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Pathum Nissanka scored a quick 62 runs in 41 balls. Zimbabwe came out on the field later and went towards their target with a sharp style of play, but Sri Lanka put up good pressure before the final over and brought the match to Sri Lanka’s victory. However, the Zimbabwean batsmen who worked in the final over secured the victory for them, defeating Sri Lanka and winning by 6 wickets.
