The young racing champion, Yevan David, who became the first Sri Lankan to win the Rookie
Championship and secure the second place overall in the 2025 Euroformula Open
Championship, met with Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage today (December 11) at the
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
Stating that the trophies he won are symbols of this historic victory and belong to the people
of Sri Lanka, Yevan David respectfully handed them over to the Minister.
Speaking after the meeting, the Honourable Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage emphasized that
Yevan David’s outstanding achievement brought great honour to Sri Lanka and assured that
the government’s full support for young athletes will continue.
Due to his exceptional performance in the 2025 Euroformula Open Championship, Mr. Yevan
David is currently preparing for his entry into the 2026 FIA Formula 3 series. This will also
