The Embassy General of Sri Lanka in Jeddah, in its ability as the Chair of the Asian Consuls General Club (ACGC), organised an exciting bowling tournament on 21 February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This attractive event was held as part of the club\u2019s ongoing efforts to foster camaraderie and collaboration among its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thirteen out of the 14 ACGC member countries participated in the informal networking tournament, which involved representation from Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Each country\u2019s Mission fielded a team of Consul Generals, diplomatic staff, and family members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The tournament, which lasted for two hours, was filled with energy and sociable competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Indonesian team arose victorious, claiming the championship, while teams from China and India recorded the first and second runners-up positions respectively. The winners were awarded by the Consuls General of the ACGC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore to the thrilling competition, the event featured a captivating showcase of each country\u2019s uniqueness through video presentations. Guests were also treated to a delightful selection of traditional Sri Lankan delicacies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her closing remarks, Acting Consul General of Sri Lanka, Mafusa Lafir said her gratitude to all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commendable sportsmanship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She highlighted that the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of the event provided an excellent opportunity for staff from various Consulates to network and strengthen their bonds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She also reinvigorated continued collaboration and interaction among Consulate staff in the future to build on the success of this informal gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Recognized in 2011, the ACGC is an informal group of 14-member countries aimed at promoting greater understanding, cooperation, and diplomatic ties through various events and informal gatherings in Jeddah throughout the year. Sri Lanka assumed the Chairmanship of the ACGC in July 2024, for a one-year term.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
