{"id":7673,"date":"2024-10-04T21:13:11","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T15:43:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/slsports.lk\/?p=7673"},"modified":"2024-10-04T21:13:12","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T15:43:12","slug":"st-joseph-vaz-and-lyceum-appear-overall-champs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/slsports.lk\/si\/st-joseph-vaz-and-lyceum-appear-overall-champs\/","title":{"rendered":"St. Joseph Vaz and Lyceum appear overall champs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa (117 points) and Lyceum, Wattala (189 points) clinched the Boys\u2019 and Girls\u2019 Overall Title correspondingly at the 92nd Ritzbury Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletic Championships 2024, which concluded at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>20 new meet records as well as two Sri Lanka youth records were established at this four-day event, which was conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Athletics Association (SLSAA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, Sandun Kosala of Lyceum, Wattala and Dilni Rajapaksha also from Lyceum, Wattala were named as the Best Athletes in the Boys\u2019 and Girls\u2019 category respectively.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kosala won the Under-20 Boys\u2019 110m hurdles with a performance of 14.10s while Dilni won the Under-16 Girls\u2019 long jump with a performance of 6.12m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St. Benedict\u2019s College secured the runners-up place in the Boys\u2019 overall championship with 77 points while Maris Stella College took third place with a tally of 74 points.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the meantime, A. Rathnayaka National School, Walala won second place in the Girls\u2019 overall championship while Ave Maria Convent, Negombo took third place.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maris Stella College and A.
