Over 300 athletes from 21 Battalions competed in various track and field events, aiming to enhance sports skills in the Volunteer Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SLAVF, renowned for producing numerous national and international-level players, including Olympic medalists, played a significant role in this tournament. The competition was conducted under the supervision of the Sri Lanka Athletics Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major General Dinesh Nanayakkara, Commandant of the SLAVF, graced the final ceremony as the Chief Guest. The Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineering clinched the overall men&#8217;s championship, while the 2 Sri Lanka Army Women&#8217;s Corps emerged as the top team in the women&#8217;s category. Private K.N.P. Malshan of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps was named the best player of the tournament and Sergeant W.T. Sugandhi of the 2 Sri Lanka Army Women&#8217;s Corps received the best female player award. Additionally, Dilshani Lekamge, who represented the country in the Paris Olympics, was honoured during the event and awarded a financial incentive for her performance in the javelin throw.
