Sri Lanka Cricket wishes to announce the following appointments made to the High Performance Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointments were approved by the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Anusha Samaranayake, National Fast Bowling Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Anusha Samaranayake, a Level 3 qualified coach, worked as the \u2018National Fast Bowling Coach\u2019 of Sri Lanka Cricket from 2008 to 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A former first-class cricketer, he was part of Sri Lanka\u2019s first test tour to England in 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Samaranayake assumed duties on March 6 for a period of two years and will focus on the \u2018Fast Bowling\u2019 aspect of all the national teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Hashan Amarathunga \u2013 Sports Performance Nutritionist<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Hashan Amarathunga, before joining Sri Lanka Cricket as the Sports Performance Nutritionist, was serving as the Senior Registrar in Clinical Nutrition of the National Hospital Colombo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He, who holds a \u2018MD in Clinical Nutrition\u2019 from the University of Colombo, has been working with the national team as the \u2018Team Sports Nutrition Physician,\u2019 before taking over the latest position on a full-time basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Amaratunga holds a Diploma in Sports Nutrition offered by the International Olympic Committee and has worked with the Sri Lanka Army Women\u2019s Hockey Team, among several other sports-related assignments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Appointed on February 6th for a period of one year, he will focus on the nutritional aspects of the national teams, starting from the U19 level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Jonathan Porter \u2013 Physiotherapist<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Jonathan Porter, before joining Sri Lanka Cricket, served as the physiotherapist of the Australian Men\u2019s Cricket Team, focusing on its white-ball tours in Australia, India, and South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He has also worked as the Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager and the Lead Physiotherapist of the South Australian Cricket Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Porter, who has obtained a Master of Applied Science (physiotherapy-manipulative physiotherapy option) from the University of South Australia, has also worked with the SA Redbacks and Adelaide Strikers as the lead physiotherapist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He assumed duties on March 1 for a two-year stint and will work with all the national-level teams, starting from the U19 level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
