Tharushi Abhisheka of Wickramabahu Central College, Gampola, who represented Sri Lanka in the 800-meter event at the 6th Asian Under-18 Athletics Championships, gained the first and only gold medal for the country.
It was very special for Sri Lanka to gain a gold medal at an Asian Youth Athletics Games after ten years.
