The selection committee has taken steps to recall Dhananjaya de Silva and Bhanuka Rajapaksa to the Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming Pakistan tour
During the tour, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will play 3 ODIs, followed by a tri-nation Twenty20 series against Afghanistan. Accordingly, Dhananjaya and Bhanuka have been included in the preliminary Sri Lanka squad for the Pakistan tour starting on November 11, said selection committee chairman Upul Tharanga.
“We have a squad of about 22 for the World Cup. The team should be selected from that. Both Rajapaksa and Silva are training at the High-Performance Centre… They are in good shape,” Tharanga said.
Dhananjaya and Bhanuka have been called up to the Sri Lanka starting squad in the backdrop of the Sri Lankan team losing all three matches played in the Super 4 round of the recently concluded Asia Cup.
