
Sri Lanka protected the runners-up position at the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Under-20 Women’s Volleyball Championship 2024 held in the Maldives.
Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Nepal take part in this four-nation tournament.
The Sri Lanka Women’s Under-20 Volleyball Team headed by Chathuri Poornima returned home yesterday.
Sri Lanka lost to Kyrgyzstan 28-26, 25-17 and 25-19 in the final of the tournament having earlier beaten the same opponents 3-0 in a first-round encounter.
Sri Lanka went into the final of the tournament with an unbeaten record having also beaten Nepal 3-1 and the Maldives 3-0 in the first round.
