Sri Lanka’s biggest female-focused Esports event, Pond’s Women’s Cyber Games (WCG) powered by Anchor Newdale, returns on 29 March at One Galle Face Mall, Colombo.

Organised by Gamer.LK, the event carries together female gamers from across the country to contest in a range of video game titles and celebrate the growing presence of women in Esports.

With this year’s theme ‘breaking barriers, building champions’, the competition aims to empower female gamers by providing a platform where they can showcase their skills, stand out, and take their place at the forefront of Esports..

Since its inception in 2019, WCG has played a vital role in fostering female participation in Esports, encouraging players to step into the competitive scene.

This year, the tournament proceeds to an in-person LAN format, giving participants the full experience of live competition.

The event will feature a varied line-up of game titles spanning Mobile, PC, Console, and VR platforms, including Call of Duty Mobile, Clash Royale, Free Fire, Mobile Legends, PUBG MOBILE, Fall Guys, League of Legends, Valorant, FC 25, Mortal Kombat 1, and Beat Saber.

Expanding beyond gaming, this year’s happening will also feature a women’s cosplay competition, giving young women across the country a platform to showcase their creativity, embrace their passion for cosplay, and express themselves within the gaming community.

Gamer.LK CEO Raveen Wijayatilake shared his thoughts on the implication of this year’s event, stating: “Esports is a gender-neutral sport, and we are committed to generating opportunities for female gamers to shine. Over the years, WCG has been the starting point for many female players who have gone on to represent Sri Lanka on the national Esports stage. We are thrilled to bring the event back to a LAN environment, where we look forward to seeing the next generation of female Esports talent rise, compete, and make their mark in both local and international arenas.”

This year’s event is backed by Pond’s as the title sponsor and powered by Anchor Newdale. Registrations are now open at ingame.gg, giving female gamers of all skill levels the chance to compete, make history, and level up in Sri Lanka’s biggest women’s Esports event.
