Sachithra Harshani Jayakantha earned a silver medal for Sri Lanka at the recently concluded World Masters Athletics Championships held in Sweden. Sachithra settled this achievement at the long jump event in the women’s 40-44 age category in this championship held in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a performance of 5.24 metres.
The World Masters Athletics Championships are the biennial championships for masters athletics events held under the auspices of World Masters Athletics, previously called the World Association of Veteran Athletes, for athletes 35 years of age or older. The first outdoor championships began in Toronto, Canada on 11 August 1975.
