
The International Cricket Council has announced the prize money for the 2025 Women’s One-Day Cricket World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka and India.
Accordingly, the ICC stated that steps have been taken to increase the total prize money by 297%.
This time, a total of US $ 13.88 million, or Rs. 418 crore, has been allocated as prize money.
Only $ 3.5 million (Rs. 105 crore) was allocated for the last 2022 World Cup. This amount of money has been allocated for the Women’s World Cup this time in the context that only $ 10 million was given as total prize money for the 2023 Men’s One-Day World Cup.
The prize money to be awarded to the winners of the Women’s World Cup this year is $4.48 million. In Sri Lankan currency, it is Rs. 134 crore. This is a 239% increase compared to the last time. The runners-up are scheduled to receive $2.24 million in this tournament. This is a 273% increase.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 30.
